This time I started to learn the basic watercolor technique - wet on wet, wet on dry, dry on dry, and dry on wet. I always like the watercolor because it can create a totally different style and watercolor can convey a mood and feel. It provides effects that oils, and perhaps acrylic cannot.
For the first picture above, I try to paint The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. I Try to copy his style which is using a lot of strokes. However, I change the color to warm color like red, yellow, orange and red violet. Although it is not perfectly like the original piece, but this is my first time to copy a master piece work.
For the second picture above, it is a task which want us to design a product and paint it. As you can see in the picture, I had design a blue crystal ring. This ring named true love,it is a wedding ring, and one should give this ring for the one he truly love, for the one he is willing to take care, to love and to share. I use a very soft technique to create some dreamy effect. This ring is paint with the color swatches that I created (the forth picture). I had renamed the color as blue bird, galaxigo, lightning thief, and mr. mystery.
Blue bird is a color that combined with ultramarine and sky blue. This kind of blue give me a feeling of freedom. I want to use this blue to resemble that love is freedom, it should not be tied down.
Galaxigo is the combination of violet and blue bird. You can see this color in the galaxy wallpaper or some astronomy books.I named it galaxigo because it one of the color that exist in the galaxy and the galaxy has no limitation, and I want to use it to resemble that love has no limitation.
Lightning thief is the color that combined with sky blue and violet. It is a color of lightning. Lightning move in a very high speed, same as love, you do not know when it comes and when it go away, so when the true love arrived, you should seize the moment, do not let it go.
Mr. Mystery is a color that combined with grey color and sky blue. This color give a mysterious feeling. I want to use it to resemble that sometime love is mysterious.
